Lucifer Hummingbird
Lucifer Hummingbird
Photographed at Ash Canyon Bed and Breakfast. Glorious! This shot is why I have visited whenever I have been able, and would gladly visit again and again in the future. The focus should have been moved a little farther back, but the head and beak are definitely sharp enough. At F22 and a correspondingly higher F stop, and focused farther back, the whole shot would have been perfect. But given the rare species, this shot made my day, or actually several days, more than worthwhile. Even the highlights on the brighesst gorget feathers are exposed very well.
